Minority Report.
A great movie on PPV, and since it’s on DTV, I thought, how ironic.
I know we’re not being accused of murder (like the movie) but we’re being accused (and effectively convicted) of “Pre-Crime” (or post crime) with no evidence.
Are they psychic? and do they know what we did or will do with an ISO programmer?

"Why did you catch that ball?"
"Because it was going to fall."
That conversation in the movie is great and I always thought that DaveTV viewed all of its customers (current and future subscribers) in pretty much the same way.
Dave likes to think that you're going to use your ISO programmer for hacking his service, but as we all know that's definately not the case. I bought one for authentication on my workstation. If someone sits down and doesn't have the smartcard inserted with my private key on it, no access is granted. I could have taken this one step further by using some sort of encrypted filesystem that would only read and write data properly if my smartcard was inserted.
I came across a computer the other day that has an ISO programmer built in, and it's made by Sun Micr0systems. Check it out for yourself here (http://www.sun.com/desktop/sunblade150/features.html#g1_2). Does this mean that if I buy a Sun Blade 150 that comes with a smartcard programmer as a standard feature that I intend to use it to hack DaveTV?
But I digress.. Minority Report is a fantastic movie (and book), and now its on PPV in both full screen and LBX formats. Some of the ideas for advertising are already being tested out, ie: with RFID tags.. scary stuff.
