please help me with this: hughes e86
I have limited success with this IRD ... the weird thing is that I get it working but not all the channels work. Pixilation and micro-freezing occur on the HBOs, PPV and West Coast Network feeds. The basic 200s and 300s come in okay. I have checked the aux card and and double and triple checked the bin file.
The EMU setup is:
AMD Athalon 1800+
512 ram
Windows XP Pro
210 Programmer
Hughes 86 IRD
--- has anyone got this IRD operational in emulation ---- any input is most welcomed

E86 locals: This reciever works pretty much like any 5th gen unit. Your locals must be scripted in your 3M. So if your running something like P52 you must set your "spending limit key" to activate the locals. Now the E86 is also a OTA reciever and you can select the source of your locals, Satellite, over the air, or cable. You could have this feature set wrong and with everything set correct on the card still not get Satellite locals. So go into your MENU and check your settings for locals. Took me awhile to figure it all out too. The owners manuel for the E86 explains it well.

I have a E86 and was looking for the Locals in the 900's until somebody pointed out that they are now in the same place as the over the air channels..Example , channel 6 is channel 6 one the E86. Have you done that ?

I just ordered my e86 and have a question as well....do I need another antenna in addition to the elliptical dish to receive my local HDTV channels over the air?
