Hey Muggles and all the rest of ya. I am doing pretty good. I have been busy with a career change that involves alot of travel and basically I haven't done much with DSS since last spring. It is good to see yall. I had many hours of enjoyment here I guess I should try and stop by more often. I guess I am going to have to go dig some of the other oldtimers out of the woodwork and see what they are up to.

This is better..............seeing a few more familiar faces showing up. I dont think the Den would still be the Den if you ever retired Muggles. We have had our differences, sometimes ugly and elsewhere lol, but all in all, I consider you someone I respect and trust. I did manage to exchange a few kind words with Coop. She is definately still around and still the same wonderful person she has always been. Just curious.............does Iryland still come around and stir things up? I hate to admit it but I miss how she used to stir things up :D. Ohh thanks to whoever made this a sticky, perhaps it will catch the eyes of a few more old timers who dont post like they used too.

Heck, I remember some of my sparks, they weren't always well thought out or appreciated lol. I think I will try to be a kindler, gentler trailer park resident lol. Looks like I wont be seeing jungle mike from I have been reading. That is kind of sad. Talk about someone who could generate a few sparks

I sure miss the way it used to be around here. I'm sure many others do as well. I still wish we could have a convention of some sort. Yea I know, Dave would have probably had us handcuffed and locked up behind bars, but it would have been fun anyway.

Some of the nicest people I've ever met were here at the Den. A lot of very good people here indeed.

A great deal has changed and unfortunately I guess it will never be the same.

I am pretty sure I know what her request is and say, let her have her name back. We know she never really goes away. Iryland is part of what makes this place interesting:). Oh by the way, in case some of the newer people wonder why a lot of people started Aug 1999 (or in my case a couple of months later) is because Rise had a hard drive crash that month, and everyone had to re-register. Lost credit for 750 posts in that crash. Then there was the time that the server was stolen......

For me the TV was great, but the human dynamic that created the "satellite hobby culture" far surpassed anything Hollywood could ever come up with.

GS2 is going to get me back online with my other account and I will get the site back up eventually. The problem has been trying to modify the billing method from an old account I had. The host I used originally was intended for European nationals only, and modifcation of the billing to a U.S. account has proved impossible so far.

I will most likely restore the site from a backup and house it in the U.S. to fix the problem with billing. One of the benefits of going legit I suppose :)

Hmm. Found this site on a quick Google search for "xcube directv" when I got my satellite hooked up again only to find that I can only get a few channels. Inspired by my grandpa's incessant hacking of satellite signals (he's got something like 5 or 6 satellites on his roof, wow), I decided to break out some old stuff he handed down to me (we've now got 3 receivers and an "xcube" emulator to play with on our old Dish 500 satellite).

Now I'm trying to figure out how to use the damn thing.

But what I noticed, and what inspired me to register on this odd Google result, was another member here that goes by the name (and avatar) Falcon. That's freakin' awesome. :D

Anyway, I'd better go hunt down an "introductions" and "rules" thread before I get myself banned or something. :P
