Does anyone have a link to a settlement
document that was accepted by both sides
(without names, etc.) which was well
written to protect against all future
claims, require confidentiality, etc.?
I know this is something lawyers get paid
for but my godson's lawyer is really
skitterish about this area of Federal Law.
It really requires a Cyber Specialist and
the people handling these cases in his area
aren't even civil attorneys.

You may want to contact one of the attorney's on this list.

OK, I'm not 'being quiet', but I'm not flaming either.

Actually, I am referring to the lawyers at that site.
My attorney jumped at the opportunity to talk with one and the guy told him: "Oh, yeah, I had a case where a client got one of those
letters and I told him to rip it up and xxxx-can it." Then he
looked at the person's on-line resume and he was purely a criminal
attorney. I wonder whether that client kept getting letters and
ripping them up?

That is part of the reason this is so difficult for the individual to handle. The case law is still being developed. There are not many lawyers that actually understand things in this area.

But maybe... Soon... There will be some sucessful defenses and it will be a lot easier for people to dodge the bullets.

This is one of the attorneys on the list he seems to know the most about the dtv letter. He can handle everything except going to court unless you live in his area.
