Does anyone know if you can pick up DTV US in the Caribbean??
I'm in antigua now, and brought my receiver, programer & HU card.
Just wondering if i can pick up the signal before i go out and buy a dish.
Also what size of dish would i need??
And if I cant get a signal down here for DTV US, what other alternatives to i have, using my HU card & receiver?

The quick answer is yes but you are going to need a big dish. Somewhere around 6 ft in dia. I just put DTV in the Dominican Republic and was able to use a four foot dish but it was subject to rain fade (pixalation). The bigger the dish the better. Just make sure you aim it right.

Are you sure it will pick up the signal from Antigua.. we are farther down south then the Dominican.
Reason i am asking, is cause Dish's are hard to find here.. and usually u need to have the satellite dish made from Fiberglass, if you want a big one(C band)size.

use a 6 ft dish but you can oly get signal of one satellite at a time, aim for the 101 bird, this one carries the most channels.

I live in PR and you can't get the USA DTV signal down here. You can catch some transponders with a 10 footer but they fade very much. At nights if very difficult to catch any. I've tried with dishes lower than 10 foots and no luck with any. If you are talking about DTV GLA thats another story, you can catch that with a 30 inch dish.
