Something needs to be done about these articles the the Kentucky and Indianapolis papers! We need some well knowledged individuals to get a hold of the writers of these articles to let them know what is REALLY going on here! I think this is very important, because now they are trying to use the papers to their advantage. They have numbers and email contacts with the articles. I think it would be a smart move to counter these articles by contacting these writers, and also have some MAJOR articles of our own printed!!!

Thanks

I think the problem is these reporters are lazy. The papers get a news release from DirecTV, make a few calls and instant news story.

I really believe it is important to get the "whole story" out there. If the only thing that anyone knows about this situation (if anything at all) is what is spoon fed to them by DTV, nobody will care. Let everyone know the other side of story, let them know what DTV is doing in your communities. When people are considering subscribing to DTV, you want this in the back of minds.

For those in Central or South Florida here is some contact information for local media I posted on another site. If anyone would like me to dig up information your part of country, please let me know and I will be happy to do what I can...

If you live in an area that is hard hit by DirecTv "end user" lawsuits the citizens of your community should be aware of the tactics of DirecTv. I'd like to recommend contacting your local media and informing them of the situation in your area.

Some suggestions:

1. If you don't feel confortable using your real name, make your request anonymously.

2. Make your point of view on the situation clear.

3. Provide links and information that will allow the media outlet to research the situation.

4. Make clear your desire to see a report on the situation.

5. Do not reveal specifics of your situation without consulting an attorney.

It amazes me a place like Tampa or Orlando has so many people in court, yet the local media has yet to look into the situation. If we get our side of the story (not the stuff spoon fed to the media by Larry Rissler et al) out in our communities, the tables may begin to turn against DirecTv.

For those in Central Florida interested in seeing your local media address the situation you will find links below to contact your local media outlets. Those in other areas of the country please post similar links so we can get the word out. If anyone has requests for media contact information in a another part of the country I will do my best to dig it up.
