This is Megaflop's nephew. I'm using his PC and pwd to post. Hope you don't mind, Rise.

We received an ok from flop via an embedded journ. That was to to say that it's 9 days from a shower/bath and there is no sand, just dust. I think he has 168 Marines in command.

I know he had a fight to go active because of some physical probs but he did. We're watcing CNN and Al-Jazarrez news.

Megaflop is a capt in USMC. His second trip to this zone.

Limited as to what he could say. That was back a few days.

Thank you turks, we needed that North front; You are lower than the French support.

Place it where you may. I'm always in trouble but Megaflop deserves care. He'd laugh at this; god, I hope.

Notice that Marines are only missing in even numbers.

Just some news from a relative of one; We pray and know.

From Jeff, Megaflop is my favorite person. He had his spine fixed/fused to go active again. He'll kick my ass for posting.

He has an *.mil addy. They never get to him. Never a return. His mom got some info a week ago. Generic verbage/scrambled. He's dealing with "boots" taking their first kill. That must be a job.

I'll save these posts for him to read when he returns.

ZKT was the last to link him (999 posts). BigDog4All has been his bud with email or whatever means. He asked about your football team, "huge canine". He spoke of Mechanic and the Rocket, and others.

That's all I have that I can pass along.

Jeff I sent you a pm but wanted to post this here too. I understand your pain, comming from a divorced family my dad called every sunday to check up on me living 2000 miles from him. I have not heard from him since i left his room when he was at fort hood. He left for kuwaitt at 5 the next morning. I know its tough. I get sproadic messages from my step mom when i can about where he is and what he is doing. From what i can tell the mail is running like sh!t (sorry rise) and the computers they used for email are ancient and do not work well, (they get 15 mins a piece for use per soldier) but don't give up hope. He is doing what he loves... and that says a lot

Tell him to give em hell and come back soon, we will be waiting for ya.

I have been truly humbled by the way our troops have conducted this battle against the evil regime of Sadaam.
All I can say is that there better be a fitting Memorial for the POW's and the fallen in this war.
They deserve it as much as any Servicemen that have ever fought for this country.

"Nobody love and longs for Peace more than a Soldier".

I was watching fox news today checking to see about well helicoter crashes (dads a pilot) and a guy from canada was on complaining how his country was not in the coalition of the willing. He said the PM will just not agree to it and the PM is deciding this pretty much alone. I stood there watching confused, as i see the outcry for the soldiers there from people all over this message board. I for one appreciate all of the positive comments concerning Megaflop and my dad, and for everyone else in this situation, and for one, i am saving all of these posts for a makeshift card to send to my dad and the troops he is with. You guys north of our border make me and my friends proud more each day with your posts. Thanks.

To the moderator which shall remain nameless who made this a sticky, thanks, it really is quite evident why this board is so popular, with people like you guys around.

this is jeff, again and not much to report but some progress. my aunt, his mom got a phone message at 08:00 hours exactly) our time. they're plus 3 gmt, we're -5.
not certain when or where the call originated. he did say his guys were not using any sat operated cell equipment. they were ordered to pass all equipment to the rear and name-tag communications devices.
he's not much for calling home. he did tell me not to inlist, thru her. he did an air hop 60 miles to another area to make the call.
he values the security of his jarheads.

also indicated he was near a river, or water. not sure if it was tigris or euprhates. very hot and gear for chem/bio was afriggen bitch. was waiting for some supplies to catch up. he also called a couple girlfriends to say hello and i'm sure that's all he said. he'd do that.

seemed to know of the rescue of the army maintenance female, early on. i think he had a squad involved but he did not say that. some other info points to that. i'm guessing of his area.

one thing was phoned and i'll pass this, these imbedded newspeople are a nuisance and are getting in the way. they are costing us lives, they make taking an 40 minute kill to 4 or 6 hours because of civilian regards. flop is a capt but has no major or lt. col between he and the col. these tv imbedded stay their ground and stay away from his guys. he was pissed about this.

MercurE1: thanx for your communications regarding this cluster---- of detail. Our family hopes yours stay our course and kick the regime ass. I know your dad will be ok. i know that.

This is the first major war where civilians were not a target with and along with the military. That's tuff duty.

i hope we got the sob and his two sons and let the people know.

thanx for letting this stick, i'm without a true communicator but sure he will when he does his command (and I'm road-kill) and he realizes the folks i've forgotten. Some may not want to be mentioned.
Hope he's around to tell you guys about the Marines from Pendleton.

Mega...take care of yourself and your soldiers in your command....and get back safely once the job is done....I am proud of what the U.S. and Britain are doing...and not what our P.M. has done...I feel the main reason he supports France is because of his heritage...he is biased twards the States and Britain even though Canada is still part of the British Commonwealth...I know our military is strapped...but the least they could have done was to send you some of our fine sniper teams...hell if the P.M. would have played his cards right you folks would likely donate a whole pile of new choppers to replace the death traps now flying (or not flying depending on how you look at it)...take care....I'm doing my part for the effort too. ;)

MercurE1
April 3rd, 2003, 10:25 PM
Bill i just want to say that we know, if it was not for the PM then we would have your EXCELLENT snipers. I am not sure if you know but our rangers tried to award medals to some of your sniper teams in afganistan. I think some got some medals of honor. I don't remember any other country ever getting medals from our military so it is big event. I appreciate your countries setiments.

I laugh because fox, and msnbc shows canadian polls of how your country does not approve of the war, however on here, i see pretty much 100% of support, and the people supporting us are not uneducated. They are very bright intelligent people. I am not saying the anti war people are not intelligent, i just heard some people saying that people with degrees are like 75% against the war and i do not agree.

Thanks again Mega tell jeff he has a HUGE fan club as i tell my dad the same. I also tell my dad to share with his troops and anyone he comes in contact with (he is a vietnam vet) that it is not vietnam, that this country and his countrymen stand behind the troops.

I was not alive for vietnam, but i remember hearing about what people said to soldiers wearing uniforms in the states. That was dispicable. I now see the children of these protesters protesting the war in iraq, the apples don't fall far from the tree... Same is true with families of soldiers, we never forget.

For Merc:

Love that image of the towers. That is the perfect picture!

Remember that I'm Jeff, the 15 year old and Megaflop is Bob. I'm still in H.S.

Some good news; they sent a Lt. back south to make some calls to the pool at Pendleton to forward news to relatives over a secure landline or sat, not sure how. Bob was upped to a Major, according to his mom.
I know there was a gap in their command because his C.O. was a full bird col. That was hoped for when he went active again. And he did send a squad or more to probe and establish diversion near that hospital where Pvt Lynch was held. The main duty was the op group of the Navy Seals and Army Rangers with AirForce crew.

They sure are working together, nicely, in this war. They'll fight in the states but sure get it together in combat. Thanks to the Iraqi attorney that mapped the hospital and returned twice to remap for her rescue. He and his wife and child have our thanks. He may lose some relatives for this. I hope not. He's welcome in my US! He's welcome in our home.

Then we have Frisco (S.F.California) jerks trying to interrupt supplies for our troops by a protest of hands held or however ---s operate. WTF? Send their asses to the red zone around the Bag.

Hope your pop is fine and keep us posted. I'm not sure why there are public opinions. Who gives a rat's ass. We're there and committed and period! Like, we say, ok, let's truce and talk this over? Get friggen real.

Update from Jeff

he phoned me after his mom-from some hotel Marines had secured in Bag.
had to tell him he has a sticky in the den. after a few words he seemed to like that. he said it was nice to have that support. he thanked you for that. he got 6 hours sleep 2 days in the Bag. said the people are having one hell of a partyof celebrate. said his group was off and out of Bag. I'm thinking Tikrit. Water is everyones problem (supplies). he caught some tv about the protesters. that pisssed him off, big time. i'll try to mellow what he said about the MF pieces of US crap. "Send the MF's here, because we can use them as shields and check to see if they have balls? We have been thru war as you'll never imagine. I've lost several in this clusterf.uck", "do not, ever, ever bring a negative to the USMC, the Army, the AirForce." "We're working together in one crazy environment of distrust". Hope to hear from him again.

I'd think they're still at it. I'm not sure how to understand this.

bye Jeff

He didn't forget the Navy-I did and my bad. He calls them "angels on call". He said when he dials in a cord to kill they're there within minutes and they take out the rags.

Said he saw looting of shops and stores. That was ok with him. Most were gov supported. Said Marines posted warnings on perimeters of hospitals and rescue areas. "they will loot and steal until they realize they're stealing from their brothers and their future and the next wounded, let them have this party, it's worth what I've been thru to see the smile-grin of their recovering what belongs to them".

I taped the land-line.

CNN and MSNBC say you're heading to Tikrit. Watch your back there Uncle Bob. Hope you'll read this some day. Hope you're ok with the back problem. we'll pray for you and your guys this morning at mass.

Just to say for everyones support has been immesnly helpful. I got word this week, that my dad is comming home. He has been living in a hangar at the Bag Int Airport for the past few weeks. No water, electricity, or anything. But he said it is better than sleeping in the aircraft. He is back in Kuwait.

Jeff i am pm'ing you to tell you about my dad, I would LOVE to get these guys together to talk. See i work in a restaurant where i know a lot of the regulars, and well i have about 10 to 15 that are dying to hear what my dad saw over there. His last letter talked about hot good food, not food wrapped in a brown plastic bag (MRE's)

I thank you all again, and my dad may be posting from my account when he gets to the states.

Hey stuffy and others:

I believe I did sat or landline a post a few weeks back. I am sure of this because I read it. It was "jarhead in" as subject. Mom bitches too.

Thanks for concern, I mean that. We have 5 months left here?...if this passes some PFC with marble balls; and if it passes he has my appreciation (won't do a damn thing with his --- life) and if the time stated is a problem then change it to 15. Good grief, I can't sue you! I...~~ ""

I wear a Marine Major. I have earned this in combat.

I am very strong when I say I know your and my security. I demand this from my guys.

If we're ok with this then I'll continue.

We're a police force with restrictions, which means they fire, rg or bomb first, or show cause to.. It's a cluster f u c k! We deal with the "most" of the population. The "most" appreciate our effort. A few don't. That few of the pop has us locked and loaded; with some political recourse when we kill them. Is that clear enough?

God; we chopped down to the burial sites where some thousand were buried, some just tied with no other cause of death; buried alive!

We killed this regime and I have faith the good people here will mend it. My guys can handle it, but they're at greater risk than real combat.

I do hope this posts. Probably may with restrictions..such is after-war.

And no friggen bars! It'll be a very long swap because I think it'll take a few years to calm this down. Sgt Sten would understand this. Somehow he does when others don't. Email me a 5th or two, lol.

Take good care,

Megaflop (not Jeff)

That makes it all worth this circus. Nothing like Nam. Thanks for the thoughts LemonHead. We're all "cops/MP"s at this point of the war. Now we're standing by, (how do I say this so that damn PFC that monitors this tx lets it pass), to pay a visit to a neighbor of Iraq.

Had a chance to swap to the states for a few months but turned it down. I enjoy the friggen weather here, yeh right, but I need to stay with the guys until this is fixed. Believe me, it is not fixed but it's much better.

I'd take you up on that offer, stuffy but we move around alot. Some asswhole supply guy would end up with the booze. Bottom line is we just can't use it now, too much going down. I still have my normal "hang-over" every Sunday morning. My system expects it.

Have nephew Jeff out shopping for another drd303ra for when I get back. Not current on testing. I understand that one can still emulate, My-M or use Activation methods. Does this stand true?
Not that I'd test. I like the 303. It's big, ugly and slow. Did that pass the Dave test and Dave is certainly reading. I have parts for the 303. Enough said on that sub.

You got a tax break; as I understand it. With combat pay, I'll receive $400 and more for every bimbo I knock up? Does one have to be married? I have some work to do :gg .

Love you "den" guys; like coming home when I log in.

You take care,

Think comm is down-

I say this because a Major in the Marines can't get through to the states. We get some tx/rx at times. Otherwise not good news. Hello to Rocketman and just trying to bring some levity--Jeff. I think that Megaflop told too much truth.

Some conversation-

"We are not certain of the bad guys. Hell, they all dress like women, and they fight this way. We never know who is the bad guy. It may be some woman or a kid. Or a stupid with a bomb strapped that gets 7 virgins when he explodes himself. Win a war, lose the peace. WMD-nothing. If they had this they'd of used it. They have nothing better than a few morts and rg's. I'm getting nervous for the guys. It's not our training to not kill a threat. Army guys are in the damn mix of it. They're downtown. Damn tuff duty for them. We are standing by."

Some more- " May get a go to get back into bag. That means we're the bad guys. Half of my guys are North with next in command. "

That's about all I have on Megaflop.

Bye,

Jeff
