I think someone should do Dave a big favor and send their legal letters to everyone we can think of (especially rich people, judges, cops, celebrities, etc.) There are mailing lists with several million e-mail addresses just perfect for Dave's letter.

Nobody likes being accused, especially rich people with good lawyers. If Dave's letter got sent to, say, 10 million people in the US, he will have a simply wonderfull time with all the complains and lawsuits.

Heck, it may even make it to the news. Good publicity for those innocent people unfairly targeted by Dave.

Blixx,
I would think your scheme would be more affective if letters were sent to the “Employee Lists” of Corporations that have already responded to the letter campaigns with cease & desist demands. (The Lawyers are already primed)

MSNBC: The Don Imus Show.. Imus & Sportscaster Sid engaged in a parody about “Johnny Zap” the New York dealer that “Fixed” cards. DTV issued a press release that accused Sid of theft …. GE responded…. Dave ran! (Dave Investigators say that “Johnny Zap” was identified as a NBC sports employee named “Richard Ebersol” and that he also supplies OJ with VIP cards)

Microsoft: The music industry’s letter campaign, Microsoft responded
to the letters with a threat of their own “interference with interstate Commerce”. Hmmm

It’s a good thing that this tread is a hypothetical exercise.

Perhaps an approach that places mud upon denial. After all we all has the desire to help the children of the working poor. Something along the lines of the following presented to your state reps similar to the California proposal.

AB162 Legislative Intent To Provide Tax Credits To
Landlords Who Rent Residential Property To Public School Teachers At Below
Market Rates (Cohn) Introduced 01/22/2003"

I would propose that you begin the process to bring such a bill into law for the needs of our own state. We all know that retaining qualified teachers in the metro areas can be a nightmare and it is the children of those areas that suffer from lack of dedicated teaching staff. A method such as this tax credit aimed at targeted areas although not solving the issue would at least be a step in the right direction. As a method to pay for the tax credits a
"tax" can be levied upon the Satellite TV subscribers of this state. This is a "luxury" item whose users can well afford a surcharge tax to fund the education of those children in areas were an improvement in the quality of
education will reward the citizens with a larger class of productive members.
