Yep, me along with 9 other people on the summons were served at our homes. I guess I will be contacting a lawyer tomorrow. Anyone in Central texas recommend a good lawyer. Thanks

Austin? Let me know how it goes. I may be in your boat someday as a former DCN member.

Will just a DCN member be reason to get a letter? Or did you purchase some hardware from them?

jaysin, were you a premium member at dcn, and did you buy equipment there. What did the summons say. My friend is worried because he was a member at dcn.
Thanks,

Well I can tell you now, this will not be from DCN the system doesn't work that fast.
Jaysin check your PM.

This is not from being a member at DCN, although I was a member there also. This is from a vector tech putchase of a combo pack and emulator board.

jaysin,
When did you get your original letter before being served?

Not sure when I received first or second letter. Wish I would have settled for the 3500 they wanted then. Now I am going to be out some big dollars. Oh well, live and learn.

Thats what you have a lawyer for, to negotiate in your best interests and cut the best deal. most civil cases are settled out of court. dtv has gotten the chilling effects they wanted by making sure this hit the newspapers, getting that last pound of flesh out of you is not something they will really push.

So tell me what information dave has on you now that he didn't have on you when you got the letter? Then tell me why you should have paid him off before now. Sack up and pay half that money to a decent lawyer and see how it comes out in the end for ya. Cheer up, this is not the end of the world.

Hey guys -
I also was served today in Northern California. I never recieved any certified letter. Does anyone recommend what lawyer I should call in the San Jose area?
I am very concerned with this and do not have the money for this sort of thing right now. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

I agree with lager.
Get a lawyer and see what he has to say. Get a good one.
I'm in the same boat and I really am not going to count amounts here and there. I don't like these guys and the way I was treated by these sob's and I am going to fight.

I plan to call Parr in San Jose since he is near my office, but I really don't have the cash to drop on retainer fees right now. The suit was filed on Dec 24 02 and now I get the papers? I don't get it, this is the first that I heard of this? What are the chances that this will be thrown out - dismissed? I sure am praying that this is the case.

I just received a summons myself. I live in Austin Texas. Vector Tech is also in the summons. I was wondering if soemone could Pm an attorneys name other than Mike Mckinnley, or maybe some other helpful advice.
I was also wondering if I am one of the 9 people you were talking about or if they were just friends of yours Jaysin.

jaysin charlie1020,
I, too, was recently served in Austin. They traced me back to a Vector purchase 2 years ago. I wonder if you guys are listed with me on the summons. I tried calling several local lawyers, but none seemed to have experience with this type of case.
If anyone can recommend an experienced lawyer in Austin that charges resonable fees, please PM me. I've heard of people attaining group representation from a single attorney for a better deal.
Thanks
