Today I received a letter from a lawyer here in my area of Texas informing me that I have been named in a federal District Court Docket case filed by DTV. Bad thing (in addition to just being sued) is that this is not from the Lawyer that has supposedly been representing me. I have not heard from him (unless he asks for additional money). This is distressing. Seems when I read about the increase in lawsuits this week, it probably included me, and I didn't even know it. Now I have to try to find a way to verify I am on a docket (and when it is scheduled for). I have to wait a week for this online service. I will call my lawyer and this other lawyer (Who may be a better choice for representation). I will also considering verifying my case at the Federal Building. I was hoping we would fly under the wire. Now we have to decide if we can afford to lose the money it will cost us to fight. Part of me wishes we had settled for the smaller amount, but it was worth the chance. Now to decide what to do next. This all stinks. They have almost nothing on us, but that doesn't matter when you can't really afford to fight. I live on a teacher salary. I normally post under a different name, but it is more tracable. So I am trying to play it safer. Anyone that has gotten a decent settlement (less than 4000) after them filing a case, please email me at email4dss@yahoo.com. I welcome the names of lawyers (Other than McKinley) that have truely helped you. (Either with a lower settlement or by winning). Has anyone won yet? Thanks.
