Name incorrect on lawsuit in pacer.

I got my pacer username and id and started checking my name and some of my friends. I found one of them on a lawsuit filed by directTv. My question is his first name is spelled wrong. If his name was Jon Doe they spelled John Doe. Will this benefit him in any way? If they were to refile with the correct name would that push them past the SOL? He has not been served yet, they don't have a good address for him only an old work address. If they get a default judgment would it affect him being it's not his right name? Thanks for any help.

Technicalities only work if you killed someone or its on a TV movie. Since its a civil case the judge will let them amend the paperwork to correct any insignificant error like that ( unless the judge deems the errors to be blatant or careless).
