Can you just get a sub for DTV's HD package and nothing else.
All I want is HBO-HD Showtime-HD ESPN-HD Discovery_HD HDnet and HD-net movies ? Don't need or want the basic cable crap. Get that via Cable for free *No not theft. My girl friend works for them*

Thanks

I would say the answer to your question is no. Because I believe , but I may be wrong' that you have to buy one of DTVs three basic packs and add programming to that. I don't think you can order just HBO and nothing else.

Yeah i tried that game already. I called and asked "since i have the total choice pkg, can i have chnls x,y,z etc and dump these others i dont want?" they not to politely told me no they didnt offer thier service that way. So i suggested they change the package to take it or leave it because it sure wasnt "total choice".

Jones07 - I have the Total Choice package without any of the movie packages. I ordered the HDTV package but I stil don't get HBO or Showtime in high definition. I don't think you get these two channels withoutbeing subscribed to the HBO or Showtime package. I only get ESPN-HD, HDNet, HD Movies, and Discovery HD. I thought I would get the HBO and Showtime in HD, but it didn't happen:-(

Your C-band dish can get HBO E/W-HD Showtime E/W-HD Discovery-HD and
PBS-HD....... But NOT ESPN-HD HDnet and HD-net movies
I really love my Old C-band dish but in order to get all the HDTV stuff out there you need to add *Cable* or DTV or Dishnet.

*My BS small town cable company does not even know when they are going to add HDTV to their line-up

Dobymax, Thanks for that info. I can live with just ESPN-HD, HDNet, HD Movies, and Discovery HD from DTV

The only way you can receive Discovery HD, and Showtime HD, is to install the third LNB (i.e. 110 degree Sat).

So far I can only find this LNB from DTV, themselves. AND, in order to get the LNB at a cost of 8 dollars and some change (i.e. shipping costs), you have to commit to purchasing a year of service from them.

Have they got the market locked or what........

Mr Bill, you can pick up one of the new eliptical dishes with all 3 lnb's and the multiswitch etc at 18 inch .com site pretty cheap. Hell even most of the rv places carry them around here but not as cheap. Someone had mentioned best buy also but i dont have one of them close by to look into it. Good luck, HRT

I got my 3rd LNB on e-bay 2 years ago. NOW you can buy dishes with 3 lnb's already on them. "Phase 3" dish they are called. check out ebay
