I recently got the Dish Network receiver model PVR 501. Do I need to add a Digilock to the unit? If not, what would happen? Just let me know a little bit about the use of my receiver. Is there any software to retrieve from a locked access card the boxkeys?
Thank you very much for your help.

Sometimes when Echo Star targets Pirates, they also hit us Subscribed users by mistake (They never admit it and will charge $ to fix the IRD.) A tsop lock should protect your IRD from these mistakes. I'm going to assume that u need to get the Card opened to have it Subbed, so as to getting the Box Keys from a Locked Card, that depends on how good the Unlooper is that is opening the Card. This is not something you can do at home, but a solution is available through a Device called a Jtag. A jtag will allow u to read the Flash Memory (Tsop) in the IRD and thus allow u to back it up in case Charlie hit u'r Sub by mistake. The BoxKeys are located in the Flash's dump.
