OK I am soooooo tired of my crappy cable company. I pay there basic which was like 30 or 40 chans or something stupid for 15 bucks. Crap channels. Now they keep asking me to upgrade my package from them. Ya I will get right on it. My question is this. Been looking at both BEV and Starchoice as an alternative. I know that the porn is better on BEV but what do u guys think in your opinions is the better deal to go with. Wanna get a kind of feel for what satelite is better with programming. Starchoice I think is also owned by rogers? or am I wrong If they are then its BEV and I won;t need to know no more.

I believe starchoice is owned by Rogers.
I have SC and like it.

Starchoice is owned by Shaw, ExpressVu is owned by Bell. Bell does carry more channels and has more HD offerings but I find Starchoice has fewer blackouts and simsubbed broadcasts.

I have had both, Star Choice has better equipment(quality) and use to have a better picture(either is better than cable), but now express and star choice seem about the same, picture quality wise. Expressvu has gone after more programing, and has NHL center ice and more HD channels.
But the reason I am back using cable is the NFL, no NFL Sunday Ticket on Canadian satellite EVER!!!!!, they do have a few Sunday games and Monday Nite Football.
NFL Films, the company that sells the rights for Sunday Ticket, is not interested in selling it to Canadian satellite providers because of the grey-market in the US.
Canadian Cable companies reach 95% of the population up there, "so if you want all NFL games get cable", is what NFL Films told me. They said the money they would make selling to Canadian satellite providers would be about 10% of what they would LOOSE in people getting Canadian system in the US to get Sunday Ticket(without blackouts) for a 40% discount(exchange rate).

Telus is a phone company :R
I was wondering why they keep sending me these annoying telephone and internet bills;)
Telus has also gone into the TV industry and is up and running in some locations in Canada.
It has been up and running in Saskatchewan for awhile.
They also have web TV.
Their set top boxes are free. But, if you wish to really use the web TV feature you will probably want to purchase an IR key pad.

BEV and *Choice are pretty similar. BEV has more in regards to special programming and sports although *choice is catching up.
If you are into movies, I would go with BEV cause *choice doesn't have as many listings and times.
The one thing that I really like about *choice is that they carry radio stations from all over Canada. You can listen to Classic Rock from Toronto if you are in BC or you can listen to Vancouver daily news if you are out on the rock.
That is the only advantage I think *choice has over BEV.
Lastly, BEV equipment is same as DNET equipment so it is pretty good and fast, where as I find my experience with *choice has been pretty slow, although I may have been using an older reciever...

It's not telus in saskatchewan, it is sasktel and they are still upgrading their programming packages so I would stick with bell.
