Does anyone know why I would be having volume or muting issues with my receiver all of a sudden? I've changed the batteries on the converter to the satellite receiver, but still no volume. Oddly, I still have volume on my t.v. when I turn the receiver off. HELP!!

This might not be a lot of help to ya, but here goes:
I had heard that there are some receivers that have, somewhere in a menu, something having to do with receiver volume. That's about all I know about that part of it. If that isn't your case, then you might have something wrong in an analog buffer stage in the receiver.
Sorry I can't be more help to you on this. :(

You wouldn't happen to know WHERE in the receiver menu that might be located would you? I've looked around in the menu, but nothing that points to the volume issue.
Thanks

There are service menus in some ird's. Lets start off with what make and model yours is to see if we can help you. Also if you are using the rca out, have you tried conecting a coax to your tv and what results you had.

I'm sorry, I don't know the model, but it's the RCA Direct Tv. What exactly is a coax?

coax - dude u born the other day?
a coax is the cable running from your lnb into your house to your reciever, it's also called rg-60, rg-59, or rg 58 whatever. Dude that's a silly question. If u are still lost goto ACE Hardware and ask the salesman to "show and tell" LOL
