Will a hack ever appear that allows DTivo owners to view *all* the locals on a spotbeam or beams? I sure hope so. I love old movies and my local stations don't show them much.

No.

As long as the spot beam birds are used, what you ask is physically impossible to accomplish.

While I haven't tried this personally, I understand that if you are running xPlusz with a hacked Hu card then all you have to do is set the card to 00/FF for no locals and guide byte and then use midupdate2.tcl to switch between locals by changing the market ID in xPlusz. This won't get you multiple locals but it will allow you to switch between locals within your spot beam.
