Yo, anybody out there? Where can a fellow scientist go to talk some techno lingo with people that speak the same language asm.

Hi People,

Because these people are "GREAT MINDS" most of them resigned about a year or 2 ago and don’t post anywhere anymore (in public) regarding Satellite. I am told. They realized at that time that it was possible for DTV to attack them via the legal system if they showed others how to decode.

Many others who have been sued under the "USER GROUP" deal have been smart enough to sanitize their homes and get legal. There is far too much heat and DTV are going to extreme lengths to attack people sometimes even knowing they wont get a conviction. But they WILL cost you about $5,000.00 or more and that often puts the kibosh to certain activities.

I think the smart ones are those who do nothing they can be attacked for and talk very little or not at all about decoding in public anymore. JMHOhttp://www.legal-rights.org/images/ttrk.gif

Of course I know that they are "gone" in the public sense.

Certainly even I post very little publicly now..

While I agree it has become rather risky proposition to be posting dtv secrets in public nowadays I think that's a rather poor excuse for anyone to cease sharing information. Frankly if you know a thing or two about the internals of a dtv smart card or have found a way to unloop the new generation of card and your only reason for not sharing it is fear of being hauled into court by dtv then that's a pretty pathetic excuse.

Anyone ever heard of NOT taking credit for something? Is it not worth sharing information if you don't get 'props' from the rest of the community by attaching your name to the bottom? Frankly 99% of real testers learned from the community and one might say they have a small obligation to give a little back. I can't speak for everyone but I have and will continue to contribute anything that I learn that I feel might be a benefit to others either in public or anonymously depending on the level of significance.

I'm not suggesting that people should spoon feed anyone, I'm not saying that someone who spends 10,000$ developing a p4 unlooper is obligated to do anything but make a bunch of money from their invention. But alot of people are being successfully frightened away from the hobby for no good reason at all. Clearly everyone can see that 90% of the fight against sat hacking is fear-mongering. I always get a kick out of the freetv'ers who are scared big brother will come into their house and check their card for pirate code but what is this hobby coming to when the so called enlightened people are buying into the same b.s.?

Btw, this message is in no way intended to be judgemental of any of the nicks listed further up in this thread. Everyone has their own reasons for being involved or staying away, I fully respect that. I just felt like someone needs to get this message across ...
