Seems to me that some of us really started to enjoy having muzzle
being put on your mouth.
Is this what we become, a bunch of sado/masohists?
Do some of new posters deserve at least some polite explanation,
ie that the (whatever) prohibiths us from disscussing certain topics,
and that's only temporary?
I'm myself not without sin but some of you seem to really enjoy it.
Why?

I'm probably one of the people you're referring to so I'll go ahead and answer.
Obviously, no I don't enjoy it. I've found other forums to discuss things on, but still nothing of this caliber. (Nothing at all lately with these dry ass two weeks...but that's another story...)
But, the reason I or a handful of others seem to be the only ones responding to people breaking the rules is that there's just not that many people on the boards any more and even less who aren't afraid to post. And I don't think I'm rude...or most others actually...one or two rude responses but for the most part just informative.
Anyhow, it's always been the mantra here to "read read read" and that goes double regarding the forum rules.

As xmyth says, we all have our own little private homes *. Hopefully, given the recent moves of DTV etc, you do too.
I also agree that the intellectual discussion there cannot always match what this site once had. But we do alright for ourselves ;)
Obviously you know what currently prohibits such discussion. Many sites simply shut down in the face of such pressure. Hopefully the Den can lift such restrictions in the future, and be once again a free forum for informstion and discussion.
Furthermore, no one says that once was the status quo can be maintained indefinitely. Who knows what the long-term future may hold? For now, we have to deal with the current reality.

* please do not PM me for info. All such will be ignored.

Nobody likes to be told what they can and can't talk about. It goes against our very nature.
You say some of the answers are rude, and maybe they are a little terse at times, but how many times do we have to repeat the rules for a small handful who are equally rude, if not more so, who won't even do us all the courtesy of reading the sticky explaining the situation before blatently disregarding it?
I guess rude is as rude does . . .
and zippy, I have to disagree with this:
I also agree that the intellectual discussion there cannot always match what this site once had. But we do alright for ourselves
The levels of discussions also the range of topics has increased, only one thing has changed, in that one topic is, for the time being, "off the menu". The opportunity does still exist to take something to a higher level. That's what this site remains to be about, and that has not changed.
But for now, I do wish for our guests to try and bear with us as we get this other stuff sorted out. ;)

Anyone that has been around any length of time knows what has transpired here at the Den. They also know that we can't discuss certain topics. Most of the people asking these questions are one time posters, regestered the same day. Did you ever think that these may be people like Lietec trying to start trouble? I do. They need just what they are getting, run out of here.......

I think by "there", zippy meant another particular forum. If you take it in that context, he's pretty much right. It doesn't match what the Den was as far as DSS discussions, but it's better than most.
Same goes for me as Zippy said though, I won't answer any PMs regarding other forums out there.

megados, Xmyth is correct in what I was trying to say. I wasn't trying to imply that this site has gone downhill.
The fragmentation of the community into small, closed sites means that the spread of new information is much slower than what we once had.

As far as dss testing is concern,
the den used to be the place to be.
Now, i come from time to time, and
i mist the wealth of info that used
to be here.
Would love to hear from the old gang!
