HD and HU

I'm considering upgarading to a High Def receiver, I like Hughes E86, can it still work with an HU if I buy it used and P4 was in there previously?

I also disagree with wink technology, is there a way to avoid being winked?

I believe it will work with you subscription no matter which card is subbed .

I own a Hughes E86 and use a P3 card. I also get longer life out of my cards with the Hughes vs RCA.

i also have an E86 (which came with a P4)and the p3 works fine, be careful if your subing with a p4 with it, have a friend that has an UTV reciver that subs with a p4 and uses a HU and the reciver took and update during the night when he had his p4 in it to keep his card updated and when he turn it on it said update downloaded and he clicked DONE which he shouldn't have did and now his HU won't work in it gets card not compatable call EXT752. Just saying all this cause i don't know if the E85 will except reciver updates, but rather be safe then sorry
