Hi:
I'm planning to buy one of this RCA model (DTC-100). Is that a good choice?

Am I gonna be able to use an HU card with it?

I already have an oval dish, but I only have the LNB's for 101 and 119 satellites. Is the LNB for the 110° satellite different then the ones I have? And if it is, where can I get that LNB (not the entire Dish)?

Sorry about all this questions, but I dont want to make a mistake.

thanks in advance.

The DTC-100 is a great HD ird. It worked with the HU card it came with 3 years ago. And it's now working with the P4 card DTV sent me. Great for OTA HD also

if you are buying it from someone when you call to get it activated they will send you a p4 card. the hu is no longer being activated through directv.

I have had an RCA DTC 100 for a year now. Bought it used (dealer demonstrator) . It is mated to 2 separate dishes with multiplexer so I receive a good picture on the 101 and 119 satellites. I just heard about the triple LNB unit that also picks up the 110 sat (Showtime and Discovery) HD channels. My HD TV is a Canon LCD projection unit which accepts the VGA output from the DCT 100 directly as well as copnent vidio. I bought an RCA converter from VGA to component but it caused more problems than the VGA connector. The Canon technically is 800x600 or 1035i but simulates XGA or 1080i very well. HDNET programs on Direct Ch 85 are mind blowing in their clarity and brightness (considering the projector cost only $2500 and 3 coats of white teflon flat paint on the wall make an excellent screen. THe sound portion is a Yamaha 6.1 system which has full digital surround with the AC3 output from the DTC 100. We have also digital cable which is fed through the DTC 100 and benefits the signal by "line doubling" the signal.

Sounds great except the DTC packed it in last week maybe due to the "solar flare" so am looking for a repair depot in Canada where I live.

Hope this helps!

I've owned the DTC 100 for a few years and it is a nice reciever for HD. I don't like the fact that it does not have component outputs and scrolling thru the channels is quite slow compared to other recievers. I bought a Hughes E86 and I like it much better. The DTC 100 is still a nice reciever though.
