It appears that in an attempt to block pirates from watching the Roy Jones fight tonight directv knocked out access to most everyone including their paid for subscribers. The effected customers and pirates alike recieved the call extension 721 message on their screen and it did not resolve untill after the first fight had concluded. directv admitted to a "transmission" problem and said the first fight would be replayed immediately after the main event. I wonder if directv plans to sue every customer who called them saying their tv was not working properly because after all they were trying to knock out pirates and everyone who was taken out must be pirates right?. I am willing to bet Dish did not have such a problem tonight.

Hi Mouse,

Do you mean to say that even people who have a proper sub were turned off and pirates were turned off too. Does this include people who don't test at all? I don't do DTV at all but I have also not heard this from other sources.

If its true I would imagine people would want their money back since they paid for a live transmission and a later transmission is worth far less money than "LIVE".

Playing it back later that same night is not a direct value replacement. So people should NOT be willing to accept this as a replacement for the LIVE if they did NOT get that.

Was this an expensive fight?http://www.legal-rights.org/images/ttrk.gif

that is exactly what took place. for plenty of subs and pirates alike they were instructed to call ext721 for the length of the first fight. the television did eventually start showing the rest of the fights and directv aplolgized for the problem. they replayed immediately afterwards but who wants to watch a prefight after the main event and at 1am anyway? they messed up something and they messed up big. i am not sure what the cost of the fight was i went somewhere to watch it. i think it was either 49 or 59.
