We have a 2 room Direct TV set up. We replaced one of the receivers with a Hughes TiVo box, and after 5 weeks of having no problems, we lost a signal from transponder 32. All other channels are fine. We have swapped out the Tivo w/ the original receiver and transponder 32 channels come in just fine. The signal strength is around 40-50, while all of the other transponders signal strengths are 80-90. (The 2nd receiver also gets signal from transponder 32 without a problem.)
We exchanged our TiVo receiver for a NEW one, and the same thing happens. We have also bought an inline amp which does not change anything.
Is there any reason why the normal receiver would get the channels without a problem, but the TiVo receiver is getting 0 signal strength???
Customer service has been pretty useless...any help would be GREATLY appreciated! Thank you!

which channels have you lost? DTV is moving some channels around, mostly locals and there are a number of transponders that wont come is do to being spot beams directed at other areas of the country

We have lost 501, 503, and other assorted premium stations. I don't think it is a spot beam issue because if we use our original Phillips receiver, we can get the channels just fine. What is strange is that the TiVo receiver doesn't register any kind of signal at all, but the non-TiVo receiver in the same place does. Do you know if the TiVo receivers filter out signals below a certain level? Or could this be a manufacturing defect in the Hughes TiVo receiver (although we have already exchanged it for a new one already)?

Can you try the TIVO in the other room?
I know your phillips works in place of the TIVO but try the TIVO in the other room.
If it still does not pick up tr.32, then you may have to get another LNB, not all LNB's are created equal, and TIVO tuners are baaaaaaad anyway.
If it does work in the other room then move it back and swap wires out at the dish, this will tell you if the cable from the dish to TIVO is bad, or 1 LNB is not compatible with the TIVO unit.
The transponders are sent on the coax cable from the dish to the receiver in a 500mhz "block", thats ALL transponders 1-32, well actually it's all odd transponders 1-31, and if you change voltage you get even transponders 2-32, so if the tuner in the LNB OR receiver is slightly "off" then you will be missing the low or high transponder, a bad piece of cable can also do this.
