I am installing my GXECBOT for the 1st time. It is used. I have checked and double checked my connections. I get as far as a screen that says `updating satellite info' and it stops at 28% completion and simply will not go any further. I have left it for more than an hour with no further advance on the 28%. Any one have any idea what my problem could be. I get high 90 readings on most of the transponders so satellite signal is not an issue. Any help would be much appreciated.

This is a problem on DTV's side, the information the TIVO is looking for is not available on the satellite so it just "stalls" at 28%.
What you need to do is unhook the cables going to the dish or multi-switch from the back of the receiver, reboot the receiver(unplug it and plug back in), it will stop again at 28% but will come up will an "error" screen, select "Continue and deal with this problem later", it will now finish the loading, hook the cables back up after the loading restarts this will allow the receiver to get the guide data.

This is a VERY common problem lately.
