Modem to Cell phone connection?

I was wondering and hoping one of you gurus could tell me if I could run a line from my Laptop modem to my cell to call in to my internet provider. I live in a rural area and the cell company don't offer internet connection. I have read about USBs to use my cell phone as a modem, couldn't I just use it to connect my interal modem in my laptop to my provider. Thanks for any info.

I'm not too sure about that. I log onto the net on my notebook via my cell phone but my cell provider lets me use their data service. It is only connected at 14.4kbs. It's wicked slow! I'm not too sure if you could use your puter's 64kbs modem to dial thru your cell. My cell provider offers a high speed internet thru my cell for about $100 per month. That's a little out my league but I saw it in action. It's fast! If I were you, I'd call my cell provider and ask them about the dial up! XS.
