Hi All,

I have been reading quite a bit recently on the directivo upgrades and I have to say I have some questions.

What I am trying to do is this:

My DSR 6000 had 1 40 gig hard drive in it. I removed it and was going to put it away for safe keeping.

I have a 160 gig seagate that if I understand properly will work fine, but I will only get 137 gig of storage, which is fine.

I have d/l xtreme2.5 and 2.5.2 and have them installed on cd's as well as the mfs tools. This is where things get cloudy. According to the xtreme25 install, i simply need to hook up the drive and hit enter twice then type xtreme25. When I do this nothing happens and it says file not found. I have gotten misleading info on whether or not I need to prep this new hard drive as I am not copying the current hard drive to the new hard drive.

Any help or direction would be appreciated.....

Thanks!

you need to make sure that you have burned the iso images to a CD as an ISO image, not a regular file. You need a cd burner program such as Nero to do this.

Once you have done this, set your computers BIOS to boot to a cd and then boot into the CD with the new source drive in the Primary SLAVE position and other drives disconnected and then follow the onscreen instructions.

Thanks Rise,

Where I was going wrong was 2 fold. I was burning the ISO with nero AND trying to install the cd with multiple cd-roms connected. Well, nero does not handle something in the ISO well and i needed to disconnect the 2nd cd-r drive as the pc was getting cornfused. Installed 25 and 2.5.2 and all is now good.
