I removed my original drive from my DSR7000 and backed it up. I then restored the backup to the new larger drive and verified that everything was ok and it worked just fine. I then loaded the hard drive back into my pc and did the 25xtreme upgrade I found under the dsr7000 section of 9th tee but all the instructions are for the dsr6000. I booted up on the cdrom and followed the instructions and everything went well. When I placed the new hard drive back into the dtivo, I got the Powering Up screen and stayed that way for about 40 minutes. I found another image and repeated the process and the same result. I then restored the original image and it is wotking on the new hard drive. I just can't do the 25xtreme upgrade to turn on the USB ports. Help

I'm not positive about this but...
It sounds like you're putting Series-1 sw on a Series-2 machine?
I've Always avoided Philups products ;)

I have had that thought in the back of my head. Does anyone know about upgrading a series 2 dtivo?

Hi All,
This leads me to a question, please... I'm fairly a newbie and have been studying up mainly on my DTiVo what I can, but one thing not quite clear to me is whether all these directions, hacks and s/w is meant for the series 2 DTiVo as well as the series 1??? Nothing I read seems to make any distinction which leads me to believe that all is series 2 compatable, but I'd like to know before I do something dumb.
