I have a regular dish with a dual LNB. No problems. Just got an eliptical dish (triple LNB's). I was told that this was necessary to receive the local stations that are coming next month. I only have two receivers.

1. What advantages (if any) with the new dish?
2. What receivers are necessary to use the oval-3 LNB dish. My RCA 420 only shows an oval dish with two LNB's.

Thanks...

1. Advantage is you get(keep) your locals

2. You need a "plus" receiver to use a multiple satellite dish, in the installation menu if you have a "DISH TYPE" selection then you have a plus receiver.
Your 420 is a plus receiver, select oval dual LNB, then go to the signal meter screen, you should now see sat101 and sat 119 signal meters.
The 3rd LNB is for sat110, you may need a software upgrade or newer IRD for this, but chances are your locals will be on sat119.

No upgrade required its been part of the 5Th and newer IRDs from the beginning
