I just joined the forum (Hi All). I was interested in a pc card for satelite reception, PVR capabilities, could be free air, depending on what is available. Don't know where to start...
I just editied this post to hopefully get some help now that I know I have the right forum. I have been reading on the cards available a bit & know there are hardware mpeg & software mpeg ones, and they don't seem to cater to North American vendors for subscriptions.
As for FTA signals, it looks like you need a setup with either multiple dishes or a motor to point one disk at different satellites in order to get any 'practical' programming.
I was originally interested in a card to work with my xpressvu sub, which it sounds like is a no go. If I can get usefull programming, I would still be interested for PVR type applications if the $ isn't too high.
If someone can direct me to good articials on the topic, or post back, many thanks. (I don't remember if I allowed emailling me, I'll check in case someone wants to provide me info without posting).
