After many trips to the dump and other sources I am ready to set up a second BUD. I'm interested in some of the Atlantic satalites NSS-806 in particular. A few of the birds do broadcast over the South Eastern US so I am in the beam. One thing however is puzzling me, Lyngsat lists NSS-806 as a C-Band only Bird and the polarity as L/R this would indicate that it is circular. That would be fine if the frequencies were KU frequencies, I would set up a DSS dish and run with it, but the frequencies are C-Band.

Anyone viewing these birds? What LNB / Dish do I need? The satalite is pre-programmed into my Coship 2300B is anyone using this reciever / will it work?

Once again I am answering my own question.

I will be using standard C and Ku Band LNB's; the polarity is not a function of the LNB but the feed horn. I have found two feed horns that will do the job for me the first being the Pro-Line CP400 C/Ku available on-line from a few vendors in New Zealand, and the second is the Chaparral Corotor II Plus Wideband available locally. The big difference in these feedhorns over linear only feedhorns is extra dielectric material that is inserted in the waveguide to allow the LNB to pick up the circular C-Band signals.

Circular C-Band seems to the standard around the world and only the satellites over North America seem to be using linear polarity.
