I have been trying to get the French channel TV5 for several months now. I don't want to spend more than I have to, the price Dish Network quoted me for installation was almost $300 for adding one lousy dish. I think if I get the right equipment, my husband can isntall it pretty easily - he's installed them before.

Anyway, the system I currently have is pictured at http://www.dishnetwork.com/downloads/pdf/technology/installation/install-1.pdf.
The set-up I think we need is at http://www.dishnetwork.com/downloads/pdf/technology/installation/install-4.pdf.

So it looks like what we would need to do is change the dual to a 500 twin and get another satellite dish to pick up the other satellite. When the dish guy hooked up our system initially, he used the cable pre-wire that was in our house - so I'm pretty sure that we've got the 2 SW21 switches, they're just hiding somewhere in the cable set-up outside rather than being right next to the dish itself.

I've looked on eBay and that seems to be the cheaper way to go - but before I bid I want to make sure I'm doing it correctly. Is it possible to change out the dual to a twin on my current dish 500 dish? How difficult is it going to be? My best guess is that we would need to:

1. Change the dual to twin on the dish 500
2. Install a dish 300, pointing to 61.5 (or would it be 148 in AZ?)
3. Run the cable from both satellites to both SW21s

I've been dealing with a satellite company here in AZ and each time I've spoken with them they've given me a different story on how to set this up.

Thanks!
