I am testing both BEV and Dishnet. My 2700 receiver is currently set to look for BEV sats at 91 and 82. Unlike DTV where you can get the signal without an access card, you need to have the card in the receiver to get the signal. This leads me to believe that the access card tells the receiver which satellite to look for, either Bell or Dishnet depending how the card has been programmed. Is this correct or is there some hard configuration in the receiver that determines which satellite to look for?

When I put a Dishnet access card in my receiver, the installation screen still looked for the BEV sats, which leads to me believe that I may be thinking about this incorrectly. Someone told me that you have to short the receiver by jumping a couple of points inside to "reset" the installation screen to look for the correct satellites, but that answer didn't seem complete as I was unsure what signal pointing screen would pop up once this short was effected. Any assistance is appreciated.

Please read the rules as this is not the forum to be asking about illegal activity...

The IRD will show signal on any of the Echo birds, but it will say "Wrong Sat" if the firmware doesn't match the bird it's aimed at...

The software that is downloaded once the receiver first connects to the satellite and is setup determines this.

The receiver can be reset, the procedure should be:

Menu,6,3,info,browse,theme,tv/video buttons on the remote (must be pressed quickly one after another)

This will reset the receiver and allow you to download the software from the other provider.

And yes, please no hacking discussions.

Doing a "Memory Dump" no longer works to download the dish software once it has downloaded Bev. They have removed the software from there satellites that was required.
