reset remote

my brother has a uhf remote which works with my 3100 but mine wont can anyone tell me whats wrong thanks Mick

The remote can be set to different freq. to allow multiple units to not interfere with one another. On the system info screen (menu,6,1,3) there is a remote id #. The remote and sys. need to be the same. I don't remember right off how to change it but I'm sure it tell's in any of the uhf unit manuals.
