I've decided that this hobby and community (DSS in general, not just this forum) just aren't worth it anymore. It takes up too much of my time these days and the worthwhile aspects of it come with unreasonable risk IMHO. Couple that with the fact that I'm as interested as the soap opera aspect of our community as I am with the technical side of things (if not moreso sometimes) then it really begins to look like more of a waste of time.

So, I'd like to say bye to everyone. I wish you all the best.

I'll still be on MSN and at my own forums at my site.

Take care everyone, it was nice meeting you all.

It's a shame to see you go. You have to do what you have to do, but this isn't a DSS testing site, so I'm not sure how it's a risk to you. Take care in all your future endeavors, bud.

Well, I guess you have a point there megados. This site still being in my DSS bookmarks I still consider it that.

The risk I spoke of wasn't over forum membership...just that to participate in any worthwhile hobbyiest projects carries an unreasonable risk when you look at it from a non-hobbyiest perspective.

With that said......you have a good point. This isn't a DSS site and isn't really even involved in the "community" (a worthless but enticing/time-consuming, to me, aspect of this hobby...one of the reasons for my withdrawal).

I'll keep this place in my bookmarks.

I'm going to stick around here since it's non-DSS.

I've left all DSS forums though. I must say, I'm loving the free time I've got now. I was spending way too much time on the forums before...

FTA is the new route not the illegal aspect but legal. If you thought dss was fun, imagine the added challenge of dish pointing and the whole slew of complications that more variables creates. I see a lot of the same people over there, falling in love all over again. For me it's the mental stimulation more than anything. rm
