Tivo, Which model?
I plan on getting a TIVO unit for my den. I currently have a HUGHEs E-86 HD receiver. I cannot afford the TIVO HD unit right now. What unit will work best for me and give me the clearest picture?I realize that I will not be able to record in HD, but I will be able to record in standard resolution, (maybe widescreen??). All new at this, so please be patient.

Depends on a few things.

What are you looking for besides pic quality? Most of the major brands all offer a relatively great picture quality provided you choose a receiver with a-video or composite video outputs.

Where they differ mostly are in areas of bells and whistles. are you looking for a top of the line model or are you looking for a more basic one?
