2.5Xtreme/2.5.2/3.1 Upgrade Question

Before I get started I just wanted to get some clarification. I have read the 2.5Xtreme/2.5.2/3.1 Upgrade tutorial but I am unclear on something. It does not say how to do the 3.1 upgrade. Do I;

Install 2.5, upgrade to 2.52 and then upgrade to 3.1

or do I;

Install 2.5, and then upgrade to straight to 3.1 ???

Are there any tricks to the 3.1 upgrade? Do I need to reboot TiVo after the 3.1 upgrade?

I will be doing this on 2 Sony SAT-T60's one with a 160 GB hard drive and the other with a 200 GB hard drive.

3.1 will work from either 2.5 or 2.5.2

Will this image "SonyT60-Xtreme252" that is in the members area flash the prom of my Sony T60? Will the xupgrade which contains the 3.1 upgrade flash my PROM?

I am trying to follow the Upgrade Tutorial, but it seems that it may be out of date. It talks of going from 2.5 to 2.5.2 but there is no 2.5 image in the members area, only a 2.5.2 image which is creating confusion for me in regards to what flashes the PROM.

On another note are these images LBA-48 aware? I would like to install these on a large hard drive and from what I have read an LBA-48 kernel is required for large drive support.
