I have a Hitachi HDTV and Dish Network HD Programming. When this display shows on screen - HD (normal) SD (normal)- it makes me wonder if I am in fact seeing High Def or not. Is there any other way to tell whether HD or Standard programming is being seen? Or is it ....if I see a picture on a HD channel ....it is projecting in HD?

The reason for asking this question is I don't see a difference or if there is a difference in quality of picture it is slight.

Thanks for this forum.

I would say, that most definatly, that you are watching in HD if you have it on a HD channel. I would add, read your Hitachi HDTV manual carefully and if you have the skills make adjustments to meet your particular likings. Another thing you might want to do is read your HD reciever manual carefully, it seems you may have HD overload, the only way to conquere the beast is to know it inside and out. I really do not know what you are looking for, in regards to your question, but I hope reading the manuals will give some answers.
