Forgive me if this has already been posted or is a stupid question, but I have searched and searched for an answer to this question:

Can you bring a legal DirecTV setup to another country and use it there just like you would in the United States? The reason for the question is I am moving to New Zealand and they don't broadcast US NFL games like "Sunday Ticket" does. I have DirecTV and Sunday ticket and do not want to be without my football. I am a paying subscriber to DirectTV but could it work outside the US?

Hi Ryan,
Yes... you can get DirecTV in other countries. I'm not sure which ones... but, I live in the Cayman Islands and have a regular subscription with DirecTV, but as far as they know... I am in the States. I have to use a bigger dish and my dish points west.... and I have no phone line hooked up to the receiver. And I don't see what the big deal is to have it out of the US. They get their money...so what if it is in another country!
I don't know if you can pick up the signal in New Zealand....but ask around!
Hope this helps!

Hi Scubadottie,
I have Directv in Guatemala. Do you know why half the channels are out for all of us south of the border?

Do not see any posted replies, did you get resolved yet? What is your
latitude and longitude, and what satellite are you pointed at? What size
antenna?

I'm living in the western caribbean and since last november we have lost all of the local channels (networks) and bit by bit other channels such as Disney and some of the STARZ package. We have a 6 ft dish with one lnb. Anyone know anything or have any ideas?
