I downloaded the SonyT60_252Xtreme.zip from the members area, unzipped it, and copied the .mfs file to a spare hard disk. I also have the MFS Tools 2.0 boot CD.

I booted from the MFS Tools 2.0 boot cdrom, mounted the spare hard disk and successfully restored the .mfs image to my TiVo drive using the mfsrestore tool.

My only problem now is that when my TiVo boots, it is protected by a parental control password. Whomever created the backup image had their TiVo locked so now mine is locked.

What is the parental control password for the 252xtreme mfs backup image?

Don't tell me that the parental control is in the smart card because it isn't. I know this because I restored my TiVo drive back to the backup image of my virgin drive and my TiVo is *not* locked with a parental control password. So, the parental control thing must be stored somewhere on the harddrive.

yo,

Couple questions. Did you have a password on the IRd before you installed the upgrade? If so try that code + obvious ones 12345, 00000 etc

I assume you had 25xtreme installed and working first before you went to 2.5.2? If not you need to do this first.

If you did, and its still not working, you should do the superzaps upgrade to 3.1

Many others have done the 2.5.2 upgrade and not experienced the problem you are describing.

Never mind, I found it. The password is 2180.

I'm having the same problem with the unknown parental password embedded in the T60 mfs image from the member's download area.
