Any Significant Quality loss?

When you use a portable system that "tunes" to your existing FM radio, are you still getting digital quality? Sounds to me like it probably is just getting the programming without the quality. I have a truck, car and home stereo I'd love to get xm broadcasting on but don't know the way to go.

yes, it remains digital however there is a signifigant amount of loss of quality due to the signal being modulated into the FM band. the upside is that it is a cost effective way to tune into xm without getting an entire new head unit
