I am setting up an RCA 420 receiver and (round)dish thats been in the basement since late 2000 when Wal-Mart was selling the package for $39.95. I am having trouble finding the 101 bird. I am finding a satellite with 16 active transponers(1-16 active, 17-32 dead)and excellent signal strength(82-87)...but it doesen't seem like the dish is quite far enough west(somewhere in the 90's). I set up my last dish, so I have an idea of where 101 SHOULD be. Tried to have Directv activate my receiver, but everytime I leave the dish pointing page and try to tune to channel 100, I get the "searching for satellite" prompt though my signal strength is quite high on the dish pointing menu. Could a Directv receiver 'find' a non Directv satellite? Because its a few years old, could Directv changed its downlink frequencies?....I can't find any other signals in the arc....thanks
