I have 4 receivers at my house, my Dad just moved into town
and I was wondering if I could put a dish up myself at his house and
bring one of the recievers over.
Would it work?
Anyway to get it to work?

it will work if...
... you have the appropriate dish and LNB(s) pointed to the right satellite... since you haven't mentioned what service provider you are using I will assume you use Dish Network...
Pick up a Dish500 dish that comes with two duo LNBFs.
Use this calculator to find the satellite direction from your location:

Connect the paid receiver and you should be up and running immediately.
