Question about extreme 2.5

I have a question, I'm about to sign up for this site to download extreme 2.5

What i want to know is, if i upgrade/install Extreme 2.5 & its other upgrades and utilities on my TIVO (DSR6000 -DirecTivo), will I be able to then use my TIVO unit without having to dialup or have a subscription? I personally just need the TIVO unit as a dumb recorder (like a VCR), so i'm hestitant to subscribe to a service which i don't think I should be paying for..

I need to know if installing Extreme 2.5 and its other upgrades will allow me to use my TIVO without a subscription (or dialing up).

That is correct it will activate the lifetime subscription for the tivo functions only, for the Directivo series 1 systems

25xtreme Will Activate Tivo Service On A Dsr6000 So No Phone Required However Your Local Chanels Wont Be Available Unless You Live In Ny Or La And Then You Will Only Get The 4 Networks

xtreme 2.5 and kraven 3.1 includes the lifetime sub for tivo as an option. It will work on any DTivo series 1.

Not sure what you mean a dumb recorder because the unit will need to be subbed to dtv in order to be able to record anything , but as long as you have that, all is good
