I am looking forward to this week's launch of XM Radio in Canada. I know very little about the hardware and need some advice.

Lots of electronic store ads showing so many different configurations of hardware :

For me I think I envision having a very portable satellite radio that I could use by my bed and bring it with me in the car. (My car has only an OEM basic CD/cassette deck.) Is such piece of hardware available? Specifically, what in here:

If thats the case, and you dont have a bedside stereo to plug it in, then you will likely want the skyfi boombox http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?sku_id=0665000FS10067142&catid=23646&logon=&langid=EN

and of course the skyfi headunit with car kit http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?sku_id=0665000FS10068542&catid=23638&logon=&langid=EN

The headunit clips into the boombox when at home and into the car kit when you are in the car.

I just bought the Delphi XMSKYFi2 from Future Shop. This comes with a car kit. I was not planning to put it in my car, I just wanted it for home so I purchased the home kit and just hooked it up to my home stereo (using the AUX input on my home theatre system). The antennae just sits on my window sill facing west and I got a strong signal. This works great - no more commercials.

This model has a built in FM transmitter. You just have to tune the bedroom radio to one of the FM channels (eg. 88.1, 88.3 etc) You can specify the FM frequency you want to use.

If you go into Future Shop they will answer any of your questions.
