Hi,

I purchased a Sportster and Boombox from RadioShack.com. The equipment works fine - it gathered the channels fine, and the preview channel is clear as a bell.

HOWEVER: I attempted to activate online and it wouldn't work. I then tried to activate by phone, and the tech told me that the radio's serial number is already in use!!!

I called Radio Shack, the guy told me he'd have to talk to somebody, took my phone number and that was several days ago. I also emailed Sirius about it - their guaranteed 24-hr response... has been 48 hours now.

This is totally unacceptable. I know I'll probably have to go thru Radio Shack, but wondering if there's anything Sirius might be able to do about it (if they ever get back to me). After all, they sold the bum radio to Radio shack. Can the radios be assigned a different serial number aver the air, or is it hardwired in?

If this is the way Sirius does business, I'll have to rethink this and figure out how to get my money back from the radio. This is rotten.

Mike

you might try & check back again to activate...

could be that one # was off on someone elses at the same time as yours & may have been corrected...the computers wont let 2 accounts have the same # be activated to

Thanks. I've tried several times but will continue to do so. The rep at Sirius sounded pretty sure of himself.

Just return the receiver to any Radio Shack and exchange it for a different one....Radio shack, unlike other retailers, are under contract by Sirius to take returns throughout the entire one year warranty of the unit.
