There is a piece of equipment available from DEI that allows your Sirius receiver to plug directly into your car radio's antenna jack - the antenna then plugs into the Sirius relay. It's about $20 and is fairly easy to install as long as you know how to pull out your car radio head unit. The signal is fed directly into the radio and you'll never need to worry about interference again.

If you have a decent reciever......Try all the available frequencies and you should find one that will work just fine. If you have a piece of junk like the original starmate or the JVC line, I'd recommend taking it back for a Sportster model.....will function flawlessly...

Or just plunk the $20 bucks and get the antenna plug in.....it's well worth it...

ah crap! That adapter is for the SP-R1 version of the sporster only! I need a R2 version.

I have static as well and it sucks.

I as well had static at first and got mad...until I did some reading and found it is very easy to correct.

1) Make sure you have a QUALITY RECEIVER
2) Try all frequencies....yes, even if this means painstakingly one by one...
3) If you have a receiver with an output for a transmitter...try this...
-Buy a cheap cell phone "earpiece" and cut off the earpiece...plug the "plug-in" end into the reciever and just lay the rest of the chord out somewhere in the vehicle....this acts as a very effective tranmitter
4) Make sure you're not just hearing static on an old vehicle with a bad sound system to begin with.

I had lots of static at first, but did a few of these things and am now listening in incredible clear sound.....

And remember...if you have a low-grade receiver, you will get low-grade sound!!!

The "piece of equipment" is the SIRIUS FM Module Relay. Costs 20 bucks and would be worth it even if it cost $100. Circuitcity.com has them.

Sirius rules says what? Glad you're getting good sound now.
