if you're having reception problems dont bother buying the sir-6, it aint that much better of an antenna.
sirius has some serious reception issues. i get reception fine in the car (although it doesnt sound as good as the radio) but in my home i have to get the 5o ft cable because i have to put the antenna on the other side of the house from where i want it. and work is a whole other story.
i get zero reception and thats really the only place i want sirus in the first place so i can listen to howard while at work but since i cant because of the reception issues there, i have to spend more money to get it hooked up at home so i can listen to the repeats at home. its either that or i sit in my car and listen to howard. but then id have to listen outside of my garage because i cant get reception in my garage! what a joke. sirius either needs to get more satellites, repeaters or stronger antennas.

Since you already bought the 50' cable, it's too late for you to try this, but for others:

I also assumed that you had to have your reciever right by your stereo, but I was reading some threads on another forum and came across several where people talked about how their unit broadcast to every radio in their home. It doesn't help a whole bunch if you are wanting to switch stations frequently, but if you tend to leave your unit on one station for a long time you might just be able to put your unit next to the window where you get the best reception and then pick the signal up in the room where you are at. I haven't tried it myself, but it appears to be working for some people. Something to at least try before spending cash on the extra cable.
