Does anyone else have this problem? My DirecTV reception is generally fantastic.....except for the red wavelength. Specifically.....tomato reds or orangy based reds. They shift (jump) on my screen and usually look like they've "bled" past the lines.....not crisp in other words.

Now let me just say....I've noticed this on all my TVs...from a regular Sony to my HDTV. So I'm sure it isn't any particular TV or color saturation level of the TV itself.

Darker blue-based reds are not affected....but anything from say, a Christmas Red to an orange-red is. So probably 590 - 630 nm wavelengths.

Again...this doesn't happen when I watch a tape or a DVD....only with TV reception. Very strange....and highly annoying. I was wondering if there is something that I can do about it or if others have noticed a similar phenomenon.

I have the same problem. I have six recievers, five of which are RCA, one Samsung. The color changes are most noticable on flesh tones, turning to red, yellow, green. This does not happen on all channels, mostly locals (CBS, NBC, etc) and CNN, some HBO, weather channel. Does not happen on DVD or my basic cable hookup. I have had Directv repair out here, and they are stumped, though they did suggest possible sat. transmission issue. I am seriously considering switching to Dish network. Directv customer service supervisor claims he never heard of such a problem...Ha, ha!!!

what output are you using ... rf or audio / video... did you try switching ... & did you try better or different cables..when using the rf tuner it might really make a difference with bad connections or loose cables... age of you rtv... age of your recs... if rf.. are you using push on connectors
