I have a vacation home in Puerto Vallarta and tried in vain over New Years to receive the Sirius signal using a home unit. The bars didn't move at all. Anyone have any experience with reception that far south, and if so, any tips?

Theres been reports of reliable reception as far as the carribean. Are you sure you have a clear line of sight to the satellites?

I had clear view from east-west, north-south. I hand held the antenna, doing a slow sweep from horizon to horizon. No signal. I see some postings that indicate perhaps it should be mounted on a flat metal backing, like a cookie sheet or sheet of aluminum. Any ideas?

I've recieved great reception in all the Mexican states I've traveled through, Veracruz, Tamaulipas, Nuevo Leon & San Luis Potosi. I might be something else.
Thanks

Thus far I've been able to receive Sirius in Monterrey in the car, but not in the house. Anyone have any tips on reception in the home?
Thanks.
Neal
