This seems as though the answer should be obvious, but it isn't to me. I have a Sportster Replay, and when operating through the FM modulator (to my Walkman at work), I do not hear music in stereo. On the Howard Stern show, they explained that some FM modulators do not transmit in stereo. OK, no problem. But when I have the Sportster hooked up at home directly into the audio jacks of my stereo (not using the FM modulator), I still cannot hear any stereo separation. Same in my car, using an "aux interface" from USA Spec.
Is the Sportster not even a stereo unit, or is there a problem with mine? Am I expecting more separation than I can detect with my ears?

make sure that any plugs you are using like (headphone jack or the "interface"plug )make sure they are pushed all the way in
I know it sounds obvious but I sometimes use headphones with my sirius reciever and when i plug the jack in it cliks into place, well I noticed no stereo a few times and noticed that even though the jack/plug clikked into place there was still room to push it in further
And if its all the way in try pulling it out a bit, sometimes they dont seat properly in there
Good Luck

Update. Last week (think it was the 15th) I had one day of occasionally intermittent reception at work. Antenna is always in the same position, nothing changed, etc. Anyway, the next day I started hearing programs in stereo! And that was with the FM modulator playing through my Walkman. Is this due to some changes in the terrestrial repeater in Pittsburgh, maybe? The reception has been good ever since then, and I consistently hear programming in stereo, both on the music channels and when they play music or sound effects on Howard's show.
I'm happy.
