Did anyone here happen to catch the take rate on SIRI OEM installs --
that is, the percentage who subscribe after the 1 year free promo
period?
Thanks in advance.

Frontmed.......
They went over this in the call.
Perhaps you missed it.
The churn from the OEM programs is not significant enough as yet to
give a good and accurate measure for an OEM take rate.
We do know that Sirius is far better at keeping subscribers than XM is.
Deactivations for Sirius were at 124,000 in Q4 including ALL sectors
Deactivations for XM topped 420,000 in Q4 including ALL sectors
Did you catch the number of subs that XM's 1.57% reported churn rate
was?????
Thanks in advance

Yeah, if they disclosed this key figure, I definitely missed it.

Not significant enough? They could have simply reported a take rate. Is
it so much to ask to just say, "Hey, 70% of our promo subs are signing up
for the service"? Or whatever the number is? There is some reason they
chose to hide it. If it was "not significant", fine -- just say, "It was
70%, which means that 30% of x did not renew".
XM has done that from the quarter of its inception, and it is the bare
minimum reporting of these data that is acceptable.

We do? How do you figure it? Oh, I get it. 420K is more than 124K.
Therefore, yep, I see where you're headed. Statistical genius that you are.
What we know is that while XM disclosed every conceivable figure of
interest, Sirius is still hiding key elements of its subscriber data.
Not only is Sirius hiding its take rate, we know they are adding unsold cars
to the number, and we haven't any idea how many of THOSE there are. Sirius
ought to be required to restate this in the audited financials, as it is
intentionally misleading shareholders. And now, the failure to report the
take rate, is something else.

Yes. It seems that XM's churn is well controlled. SIRI's? Hard to say,
since they are burying it.

Herman....
Please then....
Tell me how many subscribers the reported 1.57% churn that XM reported
represented.
You say that Sirius is hiding their churn????? This is laughable.
They clearly state their fully loaded deactivations every quarter. the
124K deactivations included retail as well as OEM. There is nothing to
hide. The bulk of those are comming from the retail channel at this
point.
Your "unsold car" assertion is also laughable. You are aware that
Sirius is counting three months worth of vehicles in a quarter I hope.
You are aware that Sirius is in the subscription selling business, and
not the car selling business I hope. You are aware that every OEM car
with a satellite radio installed becomes a subscriber I hope. You are
aware that the Sirius/DCX method has a "pull-back at the beginning of a
quarter, and a "pull-ahead" at the end of the quarter I hope. you are
aware that this basically creates a wash I hope.
XM's churn is over 2.7%....Sirius churn is at 1.5%.....Those are the
facts.
So, once again, please tell me the actual number of subscribers
represented by XM's 1.57% churn figure.
While you are at it, pleae tell me the number of free subscriptions XM
gave away in Q4. We already know the number is over 100,000
somewhere......Does it reach 200,000????? Wouyld you consider that a
key figure?????

So do the unsold Visors at Walmart. Are they counting them, too?
Obviously, your remark doesn't hold water.

It most certainly does NOT create a "wash". It creates a permanent
misstatement in the number of subscribers, and one which, at this point
in time, is growing each quarter [presumably, although, their refusal
to disclose the underlying data makes it guesswork to know].
Hopefully, the auditors will step up to their jobs and force a
restatement. If not, it may be necessary to bring it to the attention
of the enforcement committee.

We know that XM's churn, when properly computed is about 1.5%. We
don't know SIRI's since they hide it, althougn they indicated 1.8% for
the next year, did they not?
> So, once again, please tell me the actual number of subscribers

Why would anyone want to know that? It is easily computed, but isn't
an important metric. Like the Take Rate, which is crucial in
evaluating how well the OEM programs are doing. We don't know if
SIRI's take rate is 50% or 70% or what? Or 30%?
Why are you trying to change the subject?

Zero. As far as I'm aware, there were no "free subscriptions" to XM,
and there certainly weren't a thousand or a hundred thousand. In fact,
I have no idea WTF you're talking about. I've never known XM to
provide subscriptions free, unless it was some sort of one-of-a-kind
promotion.

You are back to "NoDownTime" now frontmed???? You were posting as
"Herman Hollerith" less than a half hour ago.
You have ZERO credibility frontmed, and your expanding list of aliases
tells me that you know that.

It really bothers you, doesn't it, nitwit?
Get used to it. Your little alias list could get pretty long...

Bothers me? I view it as your admission that you know that you have
ZERO credibility, thus the need to try to pretend you are someone
different who does't have the credibility problem that "frontmed" has.
Maybe some day you will realize the difference between people laughing
at you and people being bothered by you.

It really bothers you doesn't it "Mr. ZERO credibility"?

LOL. Watch eBay, if and when, the Helix and Inno hit the street. You
will see copious amounts of these products for sale with a year's
subscription. I wonder wheere they are coming from?

No more than the fact that Stern got paid bothers you.
